This quote means that good values are very important in everyday life. Having good values can make you a person of good character. If you have good values then good things will come your way for being the way you are. Having bad values will make you a person of bad character. If you have bad values then bad things will come your way for being the way you are. Examples of good values would be being respectful, honest, responsible, etc.
There are many examples of how good values are the most important thing you will ever have. For example, if you see someone dropped their wallet, what do you do? If you had bad values you would keep it and not giving it back to the person who dropped it. This would make you later on feel guilty for what you did and you can receive consequences if anyone saw you take it. If you had good values you would not keep it but instead returned it to the rightful owner. This would not bring consequences but instead make you feel good about what you did. This is basically what I understood from this quote by Dennis Prager.
