These statements mean that telling the truth is the best thing to do in all situations. If you tell the truth you can avoid consequences for your actions and not feel guilty for anything. If you don’t tell the truth you will always be worrying about the lies you made up and you'll have a bad reputation for always lying. There are many examples of how telling the truth is the best thing to do in all situations. For example, if you cheat on a test and your teacher accuses you of it the best thing to do would be to come clean with the truth. If you tell the truth your credibility won’t be ruined and people will see you as an honest person. This is basically what I understood from this quote by Barbara A. Lewis.
