Duties and Responsibilities: As a yoga therapist you would work with people who have a range of physical problems, such as asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure or back pain. You would start a therapy session with consultation, taking note of the client’s physical condition, medical history and any related lifestyle factors. You would then decide the program of therapy, teach a range of yoga postures or breathing exercises depending on the client's needs.

Education: To become a yoga therapist, you will need to be a qualified yoga teacher and have taken a course in yoga therapy. Once qualified as a yoga therapist, you can register with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.

I think I would not like to be a yoga therapist because it doesn’t really interest me and I already have another career in mind.

Wellness Specialist

Wellness Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities: Wellness specialists work for schools, local governments, companies or other organizations to suggest, support and train people on their health and fitness goals. A specialist often consults with people directly on lifestyle, eating and exercise habits and may direct an individual to a doctor for any serious health concerns.

Education: A wellness specialist often has a degree in a related discipline such as nursing, fitness or sports medicine. There are no specific requirements, but many positions require on-the-job training  in addition to certification.

Demand For This Profession: Employment of wellness specialists is projected to grow 37% between 2010 to 2020, which is much faster than the averages for other careers. This is due to the reason of rising healthcare costs and the need for programs to reduce costs.

I think I would not like to be a wellness specialist because the job looks good but doesn’t interest me. Plus I have another career in mind already.

Veterinarian

Duties and Responsibilities: Veterinarians have a wide variety of career opportunities and deal with all types of animals. Job duties range from cleaning teeth and inspecting hooves to major surgery and animal euthanasia.

Education: Veterinarians are required to complete a four-year Doctor of Medicine program, in addition to undergraduate school. These professionals are also required to obtain licensure to practice in this profession.

I think I would like to be a veterinarian because it seems like an interesting career. I like that you get to work with different animals.

Marine Biologist

Marine Biologist

Duties and Responsibilities: Marine biologist study organisms that live in an ocean or sea environment. Much of their time is spent in the field collecting data about plant and animal species. This data is then analyzed in a lab or an office to advance the understanding of species and their environments.  Salary:$29,460-$99,663

Education: Marine biologist usually require to have earned a bachelor’s degree in marine biology but you can always further your education and earn a master’s degree or even a Ph.D. Another requirement can be an internship or externship in the field. Demand For This Profession: The employment of marine biologist is expected to rise 5% between 2012 and 2022, which is slower than the average for all U.S. occupations.

Yes i think I would like to be a marine biologist because it seems like an interesting career. I love that you get to go out and research not just stay inside a lab the whole day.

Speech Pathologist

Duties and Responsibilities: Speech pathologist diagnose and treat individuals who suffer from stutters, as well as vocal and cognitive communication impairments. They also help those whose speech is affected by emotional issues, various learning disabilities and physical impairments. To accomplish these tasks, speech pathologists conduct specialized testing and provide therapy designed for individual clients’ needs.

Education: Graduate programs in speech pathology are offered at the master’s and doctoral degree level. But a master’s degree in speech pathology is the most common degree in this field and it is the minimum requirement for obtaining professional certification and state licensure.

As the large baby-boom population grows older, there will be more instances of health conditions that cause speech or language impairments.

I think I would like to be a speech pathologist because it’s an amazing career. You get to help people in need which is something I would like to do.

Medical Scientist

Medical Scientist

Duties and Responsibilities: The purpose of a medical scientist is to discover new methods of enhancing human health. The end result of these procedures and research is to come up with new treatment options, drugs, and vaccines. Medical scientist perform research on specimens, such as bacteria and viruses then regularly

perform  reviews, clinical investigations and write technical reports during this research process.

Education: Medical scientist require a bachelor’s degree in biology or in a medical health related major. Though they can always obtain high education and strive for a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biological Sciences or even Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), instead. Medical scientist that work with patients however must be licensed. They also must be able to effortlessly shift from working in a team setting to independently.

I think I would like to be a medical scientist because it seems like an interesting career. It’s interesting because you get to research things in order to help people in need.

Reflexologist

Duties and Responsibilities: Reflexologist work with patients to help them ease the stress and tension in their lives. They perform therapeutic massage techniques to stimulate pressure points in patients’ hands and feet.

Education: Reflexologist attend certificate or associate degree programs in massage therapy with an emphasis in reflexology. To qualify for certification, students must have at least 110 hours of study in reflexology. Courses cover a wide variety of topics, including anatomy, foot mapping, reflexology history, reflexology theory and business practices.

Demand For This Profession: Reflexologist have been projected to grow as much as 20% between 2010 and 2020 due to the reason of growth in all careers related to massaging.

I would not like to be a reflexologist because it doesn't seem like an interesting career and I would not like to spend everyday working with people’s feet.

Registered Nurse

I think I would not like to be a registered nurse even though it is an amazing career because I want a career that I can go out and do something this seems like you would be inside all day.

Recreation Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities:Recreational therapists plan, direct, and coordinate recreation-based treatment programs for people with disabilities, injuries, or illnesses. Recreational therapist use a variety of modalities, including arts and crafts, drama, music, dance, sports, games, and community reintegration field trips to help maintain or improve a patient's physical, social, and emotional well-being.

Education:Recreational therapist typically require a bachelor’s degree in recreational therapy or a related field. Associate’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees are also available though less common.

I think I would like to be a recreation therapist because it sounds like an amazing career. You get to be able to help people which is a great thing to do and something I enjoy.

Army Field Surgeon

Duties and Responsibilities: The field surgeon performs the basic duties of a physician. He or she examines, diagnoses, and treats for the initial phase of battlefield disease or injury. The field surgeon also provides resuscitative and definitive care for injured or wounded soldiers.

Education: The Army Medical Corps offers first-year graduate medical education, residency and fellowship programs. Qualifying medical school students can also benefit through unique training opportunities exclusive to Army Medical Corps Officers.

Demand For This Profession: This career is rising because we are in need of more army surgeons because of how fast the rate of injured or wounded soldiers has gone up. It is expected to raise higher because of how necessary this career is.

I think I would like to be a army surgeon because I would get to help people in need who put their lives in danger to protect our country. This also seems like a very interesting career.  

Phlebotomist

Phlebotomist

Duties and Responsibilities:As a phlebotomist you will be the one who draws blood from patients, collects a variety of other specimen samples as well as label the blood vials that you have filled. Expect to draw blood from babies, children, young adults and elderly patients on a daily basis. You will also be responsible for bringing all the blood and specimen samples to the laboratory either in the hospital you are working in or locally in the area.

Education: There is no mandatory education but associate's and bachelor's programs for phlebotomy are available

Demand For This Profession: Employment of phlebotomists is projected to grow 25% from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations. Hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, blood donor centers, and other locations will need phlebotomists to perform bloodwork.

I think I would not like to be a phlebotomist  because I would feel as though I would poke the patient in the wrong place because I would get nervous.

Architect

Duties and Responsibilities: Architects design new buildings, extensions or alterations to existing buildings and advise on the restoration and conservation of old properties. They can work on individual buildings or on large redevelopment schemes, and can be responsible for the design of the surrounding landscape and spaces.

Education: Architects require to complete a bachelor's degree program for architecture. They may also need to attend an internship program and need to obtain a state licensure. They can always further their education and get higher degrees than the bachelor's degree.

Yes I would like to be an architect because this job has always interested me since it involves math which I like. Another reason for this is because I like to draw and this career involves sketching out plans.

Mental Health Counselor

Duties and Responsibilities: Mental health counselors offer guidance to individuals, couples , families and groups who are dealing with issues that affect their mental health and well-being.

Education: Mental health counselors just required a bachelor's degree in counseling with takes up to four years to earn. You can always further your education and get a master’s degree in counseling or even a  PHD.

Demand For This Profession: Mental health counselors are projected to grow 29% from 2012-2020 because of the fast rates of this field growing.

I would not like to be a mental health counselor even though it is a great career because I have another career in mind.

X-Ray Technician

X-Ray Technician

Duties and Responsibilities: Medical x-ray technicians create x-ray images of parts of the human body using radiographic equipment, to assist in the diagnosis of medical problems. During an x- ray the technician must move around the person's to capture the exact picture ordered by a physician.

Education: X-ray technicians require certificate or associate's degree in radiologic technology or a directly related field. May also require licensing or certification which is available through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Demand For This Profession: The number in x-ray technicians is expected to increase 28% by 2020  in the U.S. since radiologic tech is one of the nation's fastest growing fields.

I would not like to be a x-ray technician because even though it seems like an amazing career I have another career in mind.

Radiation Therapist

Education: Most require to have completed a 2-or 4-year program in radiation therapy or a degree in radiology combined with a 1-year program in radiation therapy. They may also require to acquire a license and be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist.

Demand For This Profession: Studies have shown that opportunities in radiotherapy are to grow faster than average until 2020, with 20% growth possible. The aging population and the rising rates of some types of cancer unfortunately ensure a need for radiation therapist.

Education: In order to become a psychologist a graduate degree is preferred but you do need a bachelor’s degree and you need to be licensed. Usually required are supervised experience, internships or residencies.
