“A promise must never be broken”-Alexander Hamilton
This quote means that a promise must never be broken because if it is, so is trust and character. Trust can be lost due to the lack of credibility of sticking to your word. No one will ever want to believe you because they will remember the time when they lost your trust. Character can also be lost after losing your credibility and integrity because no one will ever look at you the same. You need to learn to stick to your word when you say something and never claim a promise you are not capable of accomplishing. This is why it is important to never break a promise no matter what.
There are many examples of how important it is to never break a promise. For example, if you promise to show up at a certain time to practice then you must show up to practice at that time. If you don’t then your coach won’t trust you anymore after that and you will lose character. Another example would be you promising to bring something to a party but you show up with nothing. Since you brought nothing you will never be trusted again and probably not be invited to parties after that. This is basically what I understood from this quote by Alexander Hamilton.
